Mar\u00eda de la Vega, Count of La Vega del Ren, known as the&#8221;Se\u00f1or de Varas&#8221; and owner of the land where the town was established. German settlers played a crucial role in the agricultural and economic development of the region, introducing new techniques and establishing farms and plantations. <\/p>\n<p>In the 20th century, Puerto Varas established itself as a popular tourist destination due to its stunning natural surroundings. The German influence was evident in the city &#8216; s architecture, with European-style houses and buildings that add a quaint and charming a picturesque and charming touch to the urban landscape.
