Discover Isla Huape, a Magical Place near Valdivia

The 20.76-hectare Huape Island is a magical place, ideal for having your refuge within a natural sanctuary with total independence.

The island is located on the west bank of the Las Cruces River in Punucapa, Valdivia. The place offers beautiful landscapes, with views of the wetlands and remnants of the Valdivian rainforest.

Access to the island is from the city of Valdivia via a paved road and finally a small gravel stretch that leads to the village of Punucapa. From there, you sail 10 minutes by boat to reach the place. The island has a small dock for disembarking.

You can also access directly from Valdivia by boat.

The terrain is flat and mostly prairie. Additionally, it features a spectacular ancient native forest and all the local flora and fauna.

Isla Huape is located a little further north of Punucapa, a Chilean hamlet of pre-Hispanic origin with beautiful paths and interpretive trails, where you can go hiking.

The production of apple cider and chicha is a traditional activity in the area.

Meanwhile, the island is located a little further south of the Carlos Anwandter sanctuary, situated on the same Las Cruces River.
