Meet Isla Huape a magical place near Valdivia

Huape Island of 20,76 hectares is a magical place, ideal to have your refuge inside a natural sanctuary and with total independence.

The island is located on the west bank of the Las Cruces River in Punucapa, Valdivia. The place offers beautiful scenery, with views of the wetlands and remnants of the Valdivian rainforest.

The island is accessed from the city of Valdivia through a paved road and finally a small stretch of gravel road that leads to the village of Punucapa. From there you navigate 10 minutes by boat to get to the place. The island has a small dock to disembark.

It can also be accessed directly from Valdivia by boat.

The terrain is flat and mostly meadow. It also has a spectacular ancient native forest and all the native flora and fauna of the place.

Huape Island is located a little north of Punucapa, a Chilean hamlet of pre-Hispanic origin with beautiful paths and interpretative trails, along which you can hike.

The elaboration of chicha and apple cider is a traditional activity in the sector.

The island is located just south of the Carlos Anwandter Sanctuary, which is in the same Las Cruces River.
